9th floor up and running. Plenty a new show on the horizon.  Tour survived.  Perhaps lets keep this thing going consistantly, okay?

lolcats!!!
life, crazy life. At a turning point for sure.  Am hired on as a general manager of a Jamba Juice, great pay (40k+10k bonus every 3 years plus monthly bonuses plus $$$$$$) but maybe not the lifestyle that's best for me.  Another possibility has reared its preferable head, 20 hours a week paid at 9th floor radio where i'm already interning.  Am thinking this plus a return to ebay (I'm starting today... more on that later perhaps) may keep me from having to give myself to the man.  lots less money though, so its a tad tough.

Some notes:
Wyatt Gurp has an online release at LostScience.org
Game Keeper(8bits or under, really really great short trax), and a mix, Demonic Control with some darker musics
Kevin, (wyatt gurp) and me are djing next wednesday at Kokotronic at club Koko (thanks Evan Morris[?]), 1060 Geary @ Van Ness in SF. Dubstep.

and first wednesday in may, Timber! dj sets begin!!!

A loose update, saw a few great shows since last posted, saw my friend Drew's band at Mama Buzz which is a great tiny venue in my opinion (abr.) And went to a big rave up at the 5low3rshop warehouse in Sf down on Bayshore, all the acts I saw were quite good, the main event was Donna Summer aka Jason Forrest of Cock Rock Disco and Sonig fame and he absolutely killed, it was as if the retarded spirit of all things rave was fucking everything else rancid. Bootybass+HappyHardcore+Breakcore+godknowswhatelse. rad. Vankmen were second to last and were basicly a kindof reduced hardcore, heavy stuff but very preprogrammed and the show itself was quite start stop as they fucked with machines. Beytah preceded, hardcore heavy breaks and quite dubsteppy at times, too long a set but good, and he was reppin' digital vomit recordings which i love. A good night.

Oh, today first real day being a volunteer intern at 9th Floor radio. yay!

update, nice weekend..

a few adventures this weekend... nice jen's family event/memorial bar-bee-cue in hayward at the decieced's house, a house party later that night with takeshi/nicole/kevie where a godawful folk performance was followed with a pleasant if maybe a tad undercreative set by lenni(singersongwritergameboypop). Then on sunday, away to a tent cabin at big basin state park, made it our temporary home and banjo/guitar jamsession studio.  Grilled campfire wieners, mallows, wood stove in the cabin.  Much fun getting fires started with lighter and papertowels. A pretty water fall and tremendous trees that been growing since before columbus sailed the oceans blue.  Some picks of that later.  Meanwhile, picks(dark, fuzzy) from that show last week.   And something beautiful we passed on the way home from fruitland.

Went to a show last night.  Weird venue, the terminal, in Fruitvale, sort of a converted lower floor former storefrontish space, generally empty with some chairs and a cute coffee table.  One side of the room was a pile o' amps and mischenany. Four bands, religious knives from NY (i left early and missed them), crystal village(Greg Kowalsky under a pseudonym, from Oakland and lucky(skilled) enough to be on Kranky, suprisingly tender sounds considering the night in general, some bowed cymbal and bell and computer drone, short and sweet),  Frlgrnd (jen's friend josh+1, drummer mixing freejazz and doublebassed metal i guess{okay} and josh playing a ton of pedals and guitar with much loudness and looping, ebbed and flowed, great tone) and cotton museum (from detroit(?), tall long hair hovering over a table of pedals, kinda boring and par for the method.)

all in all a great night and it seems more and more of these are washing up here in Oakland. Will post pictures later.

got my processing patch to load images from flickr. rad.
